Who We Are
Our mission at Dharmapala Kadampa Buddhist Center is to share Buddha’s wisdom in a way that fits naturally into everyday life. Along with this wisdom, we offer guided meditation practices that help people cultivate compassion, clarity, and inner peace while navigating busy modern life. Inspired by the teachings of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, a Tibetan meditation master, we show how anyone can integrate Buddha’s wisdom and meditation into their day, no matter their background or experience.
We are part of the New Kadampa Tradition, a global family of Mahayana Buddhist centers founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Our meditation tradition is rooted in a lineage of wisdom that has helped practitioners develop inner peace for thousands of years.
We offer weekly meditation classes open to everyone on Monday evenings from 6:00 to 7:15, along with special workshops and events throughout the year. Our classes are beginner friendly and include a simple talk, guided meditations, and time for discussion and reflection. You’ll find a friendly, supportive community of people that help one another cultivate a more positive and meaningful life.
For those who want to explore more deeply, we also offer an in‑depth study program that provides a steady and inspiring way to engage with Buddha’s teachings and strengthen meditation practice.
Everyone is welcome! We believe Buddha’s timeless wisdom and the practice of meditation can help everyone cultivate a peaceful mind, grow spiritually, and contribute to a kinder world.
We are a volunteer‑run, member‑supported nonprofit. If you enjoy offering your time and talents, we invite you to help us share this path of wisdom and compassion.
